El Mealem Pozzolanic Cement (CEM II A/P 42.5N -) is suitable for a wide range of construction needs, it can improve the workability, strength, durability and chemical resistance of concrete, making it more resilient to varying conditions. When producing this cement, part of the clinker is replaced with pozzolanic materials that help reduce CO2 emissions, while enhancing cement properties and cost efficiency. Pozzolanic materials increase the ability of the cement to resist dissolved salts in soil, including sulfate salt.
Composition
Portland Cement Clinker
74% to 86%
Natural siliceous Pozzolanic
10% to 20% complying with BS: 8615/ 2019
Gypsum
4 to 6%
Advantages
The reduction of the overall amount of heat of hydration throughout the early ages of concrete, causing less cracks.
Contributes to industry efforts to preserve the environment through the reduction of clinker production, which leads to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
Increased density of concrete structure leading to higher compressive strength.
The reduced permeability of the hardened concrete structure.
Uses & Applications
Plain and reinforced concrete that is not exposed to sulfates in soil.
Lining the concrete work of irrigation channels and drinking water reservoirs.
Concrete work of sewage rehabilitation projects.
Foundation of bridges and all piles work.
Mass concrete work and concrete of structures with double exposure of sulfates and chlorides.
