Aboul Gheit salutes Norway, Ireland, Spain after recognizing Palestine

Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit highly welcomed the important steps taken by Norway, Ireland and Spain to recognize the State of Palestine.
"I salute and thank the three countries for that step that puts them on the right side of history in this conflict," Aboul Gheit said, adding "I call on countries that have not done so to follow suit. The three countries took their courageous, principled step."
He further stated: "I congratulate Palestine on this positive development."
Norway, Ireland and Spain said on Wednesday they are recognizing a Palestinian state, in a largely sympolic move that deepens Israel’s isolation, according to AP.
The announcements came as the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense minister and the International Court of Justice is considering allegations of genocide that Israel has denied.
