Egyptian, Emirati FMs exchange assessments on probabilities of Israeli land operation in Rafah

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Monday evening a phone call from his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdallah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to consult on the developments of the recent Israeli moves in Palestinian Rafah.   The two ministers exchanged assessments on the probabilities of an Israeli military land operation in the town. In that framework, they asserted the importance of not missing any chance to attain a ceasefire agreement that enables a hostage-swap exchange, and that would last for a few weeks, and then, turn into a long-term truce.   They agreed on keeping up their communication with different parties to inhibit the persistence of escalation, which risks dragging the region into a conflict on a wider scope.               Egypt Today
