Egypt welcomes UN resolution demanding immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Egypt welcomes the Security Council’s adoption of a Gaza ceasefire resolution for the first time since the outbreak of the crisis, despite it being “unbalanced and with a limited timeframe.”   Egypt demanded the immediate adherence to the ceasefire in a way that opens up space to deal with all aspects of the crisis, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Monday.   The United Nations Security Council succussed on Monday to adopt a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza after nearly 170 days of war.   The resolution was issued by the 10 elected countries in the UN, as a total of 14 members voted in favor the resolution, while the U.S. abstained.   According to The Palestinian Health Ministry on Sunday, the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip had reached 32,070 martyrs and 74,298 injured since October 7.   The ministry added that thousands of Palestinians were still stuck under the rubble amid the continuous Israeli bombardment of the strip.   The Palestinian health statement indicated that the Israeli occupation committed 9 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing 82 martyrs and 110 injured, according to Al-Qahera News TV Channel.             Egypt Today
