Egyptian president checks economic performance indicators

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi was briefed Wednesday on indicators of the country's economic performance in light of the recent inflow of funding and investments as well as the investment promotion programmes implemented last year.   The president commended the enhancement in Egypt's credit ranking and economic outlook. Hence, he examined ways of bolstering sustainable development, combating inflation, stabilizing prices, and increasing the supply of goods by releasing more imports from ports and expanding local production. That is in addition to maintaining reserves of staples and implementing social safety bundles.   The meeting included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli; Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala al-Said; Minister of Finance Mohamed Mait; Minister of International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat; and, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Hassan Abdallah.
