2006: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Qalaa Holdings and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
2007: ERC was incorporated to upgrade CORC, with an EPC contract awarded to GS Engineering & Construction of South Korea and Mitsui & Co. of Japan.
2012: Financial closure and site handover to the contractor.
2014-2018: Completion of construction and full operational integration of the refinery.
2020: Achievement of contract guarantees, marking a significant milestone in ERC's operational excellence.
