President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has instructed the government to study the challenges faced by struggling factories by devising unconventional solutions to facilitate their operation.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and several ministers on Wednesday, Sisi emphasized that these initiatives aim to protect the investments made and uphold the rights of workers.
The discussions centered on the different aspects and stages involved in implementing the National Industrial Strategy, designed to enhance Egypt’s industrial sector promptly.
The strategy is focused on utilizing all available industrial resources within Egypt and harnessing the capabilities of both domestic and foreign private sectors to position Egypt as a leading industrial hub regionally and internationally.
Furthermore, the strategy aims to boost export volume and value and enhance overall national economy, which will positively impact the standard of living for citizens.
The meeting also addressed the significant challenges hindering the Egyptian industry and highlighted means to overcome these obstacles.
Sisi underscored the paramount importance of the industrial sector for the state, highlighting that amidst global and regional challenges, there are opportunities to establish a resilient industrial foundation in the country.
He directed the government and the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development to intensify efforts in promoting the localization of promising industries in Egypt and technology transfer, fostering greater involvement of the private sector.
These initiatives are aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian industries both locally and globally.
Sisi also stressed the importance of investing in training and upskilling the Egyptian workforce, along with updating the industrial investment map to attract more investments across diverse sectors.
