Minister Mashat, Dutch Amb. talk join work files, follow up on mutual projects

Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, held a bilateral discussion session with Ambassador Peter Mollema, the Dutch Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss joint work files and follow up on the implementation of programs and projects.
The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, within the framework of the periodic meetings that Mashat holds with multilateral and bilateral development partners.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation welcomed the Dutch ambassador to Cairo, stressing the depth of the mutual relations between the two countries, and thanking the former Dutch ambassador, Maurits Schaapveld, for his efforts, during his stay in Egypt, to strengthen relations between the two countries in order to achieve common interests.
Minister Mashat discussed with the Dutch Ambassador Peter Mollema the ongoing preparations for holding the investment conference scheduled to be held by the government in partnership with the European Union next June, following the signing of the joint declaration to raise relations to the level of a strategic partnership between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the President of the European Commission, last March, inviting Dutch companies to participate in the conference and learn about the investment opportunities available in Egypt.
The Minister of International Cooperation stressed the Egyptian government’s keenness to increase efforts to empower the private sector, provide more investment opportunities, and create the appropriate environment to expand the scope of work of private sector companies.
Mashat further pointed out that the financing package that was announced last March during the Egyptian-European summit includes investment guarantees provided by the European Union to encourage more European companies to enter into the Egyptian market.
