President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi received Monday CEO of Apache John Christmann to follow up on the company’s plans to expand in Egypt in the sector of oil and gas exploration and production.
President Sisi commended the company’s work in the country over the past three decades, and examined ways of bolstering economic cooperation between Egypt and the United States as Christmann is currently chairing the Egypt-U.S. Business Council.
In August, Christmann stated that Apache would invest $1.4 billion in the Egyptian market starting 2024. A few months earlier, he revealed that the company had upped its rigs in Egypt to 17.
