23rd of July Revolution established Egypt’s independence and sovereignty: President Sisi

“The 23rd of July Revolution changed the course of history by ending colonization, and establishing Egypt’s independence and sovereignty,” President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi said in his speech Tuesday on the 72nd anniversary.

The president noted that the Egyptian people should learn from history, paying attention to both achievements and downturns. He added that the 23rd of July Revolution activated the Egyptian role on the African and Arab levels by defending the interests of southern peoples on all continents on the international community scale.

President Sisi equally showcased that Egypt had been able to achieve peace rooted in justice and land restoration and did not abandon the advocacy of the rights of Palestinians, especially in an independent state.

“Egypt has coped with changes and made strenuous efforts to improve its economic, investment, urbanization, and industrial capabilities, and engaged in the global trade system. That is in tandem with mitigating the impact of international shocks on national economy, and securing social safety,” the Egyptian president highlighted.

Yet, the chief of state pointed out that “the current regional and international reality – which consists of geopolitical confrontations, conflicts and civil wars – imposes new challenges and complex circumstances that Egypt shall overcome by the strength of its people.”
