Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Sunday with representatives of Kuwaiti and foreign media outlets during his visit to Kuwait.

Abdelatty reviewed the agenda and goals of his trip and the meetings he held with senior Kuwaiti officials to strengthen relations and push them to broader horizons, according to an official press release.

He pointed out that the visit focuses on political and economic relations and boosting investments in addition to preparations for holding the 14th round of the joint higher committee in Kuwait under the two countries’ top diplomats.

He highlighted similarity of the views expressed by both sides on regional issues of mutual interest.

He answered questions of the journalists on aspects of cooperation between Egypt and Kuwait in addition to the stances of the two countries towards issues in the regional and international arenas, topped by the issues in the Middle East, especially the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon where he reiterated the necessity to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

During his visit, Abdelatty met number of Kuwaiti officials including Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

In his meeting with the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Abdelatty delivered the greetings of President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi to Kuwait’s Prince and Crown Prince, affirming the depth of historic ties and the willpower of the leadership in both countries to push forward cooperation and coordination.

Minister Abdelatty added that Egypt looked forward to maintain the periodical meetings among the officials of both countries. He underscored Egypt’s eagerness for attracting Kuwaiti investments, and implementing infrastructure projects in Kuwait.

The minister further stressed support to the security of the Gulf as it is an integral part of the Egyptian national security.
