Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie asserted that the Suez Canal pays great attention to following up the latest methods to build ships and maritime units operated with clean energy as part of the tendency of the authority to declare the Suez Canal “a Green Canal” by 2030.
This came during Rabie’s meeting with executive operations’ director in the department of eco-friendly systems to direct the maritime units of Hyundai arsenal for heavy industries.
The meeting comes to discuss means of joint cooperation in the field of building ships and the different maritime units.
This came on the sidelines of Rabie’s inspection tour in the arsenal in the South Korean city Ulsan.
The Suez Canal is working on developing the arsenals and the companies of the SCA via improving the level of labor training and supplying them with the latest technologies in the industry of the different maritime units via cooperation with major international arsenals within the framework of exchanging expertise and transferring technology.
In a statement on Wednesday, Rabie said that the meeting witnessed means to boost future cooperation between the arsenals and companies of the SCA and Hyundai arsenal for heavy industries.
