Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat called on the World Bank Group (WB) to assume its role as a knowledge bank to enhance cooperation and coordination with different countries to focus on the sectors supporting inclusive and sustainable growth.
Mashat stressed the importance of implementing the 2023-2027 World Bank Group’s Country Partnership Framework with Egypt, which is based on promoting the private sector’s role and creating jobs, increasing investments in human capital through improving social protection, health and education systems, as well as enhancing resilience in climate action and strengthening economic management.
The minister made the remarks during her meeting on Friday with Anna Bjerde, the World Bank’s Managing Director of Operations, on the sidelines of the 2024 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington.
